What is Pelletizing Process?
The pelletization process is an agglomeration process in which the fine powder of the material is tumbling by the addition of a liquid binder or water, and gradually agglomerates to form a granule. The pelletizating process can be combined with different treatment methods according to the requirements of the materials.
In general, the pelletization process can be divided into the following steps:
First, in a pin or paddle mixer, the fine material of the material is pre-adjusted, and the pin mixer mixes the continuously fed material with the liquid binder and uniformly mixes the two by rolling. However, not all pelletization processes require pre-adjustment, which reduces the amount of binder used and improves the final product.
Next, the mixed material is transferred to a disc pelletizator, and if the material is not pre-conditioned, the liquid adhesive is sprayed at this step. Above the disc pelletizating machine, the agglomeration process will be carried out at a suitable feed rate and rotational speed until the pelletization material reaches the desired size and exits the pelletizator by centrifugal force.
Further, the pellets are conveyed to a rotary dryer for moisture removal, reduced moisture content, or a polishing or cooling step to form the final hardened form.

What materials can be pelletizated?
The pelletizating machinery accepts a wide variety of materials, and most materials in powder or slurry form can be granulated to form a dry and hardened granule product.
